First Puerto Rican fashion designer to present a collection during Paris Fashion Week at the Hotel d’Evreux at Place Vendome Paris, France. Miriam Budet with over a sixteen year career in the fashion industry. Her uncanny ability to combine colors and textures has made her one of the highest quality designers to export from the island of Puerto Rico. Starting in the fashion industry during the early 1990’s she joins a Fashion Design workshop at the Central School of Visual Arts where she graduated with honors and was awarded the “Magna Cum Laude Fashion Award”. 1998 – Obtained her BA degree in Advertising from the University of Puerto Rico. 2001 – Graduated from the Lisa Thon School of Design, receiving the award “2001 Total Look Award”.
Started her brand “Miriam Budet” on 2001 alongside Brand Director and husband David Mercado.

We have established our Prêt-à-Porter brand as one of the most recognized in Puerto Rico; committed to the production and confection of our collections with a fashion forward and trendsetting sense of style. Created with a perfect balance between day to day pieces but with the right amount of edge and artisanal touch to make them unique. Working with world trends but always adding a bit of the Caribbean flare which flows naturally.
Her collections have been part of the most important fashion runways in Europe, the Caribbean, showcased by various local and international magazines, newspapers and social media. We have dressed the most influential and fashion forward women in Puerto Rico as well as international and local artists.
Miriam Budet is one of the few Puerto Rican designers that designs and manufactures her own garments, handbags, accessories and shoes locally.
